Welcome. I am a writer attempting to answer two questions.
1. Can you go home again? I'm writing a novel set in my childhood home of Juneau, Alaska. I have not lived here for nearly twenty-five years, but have always considered it my home. I say I've come to Juneau to complete my first draft and research details. But I also want to see what was just a dream and what is reality...oh, and just how damn weak I've become.
2. If given time and solitary space, will a writer write? Ah, yes, how many times a writer bemoans the lack of peace and quiet. But what will happen when the writer actually gets both of those things? Will she churn out a masterpiece? Or will she fall into an existence of cheese popcorn nibbling and web surfing? I have until the end of June to get something accomplished. Will I?
This web site is meant as a place for me to chronicle my search for answers to both those questions and any other observations that come up. It's a lazy way for me to keep my friends appraised as to my progress, but anyone else is welcome to read. Because it is a public page, I'll simply refer to myself as The Writer, and change any other names I see fit to protect the innocent.
The site is now divided into two sections. The first covers my stay between March and June of 2001. The second part starts in November of 2001, carrying on until I run out of steam. :: P A R T 1 :: P A R T 2 ::
